Pregnancy Journey
Pregnancy is a miraculous and exciting time. While your body undergoes profound changes, prioritising self-care is essential for your wellbeing and your baby’s healthy development.

What to Expect
Hormonal surges of oestrogen & progesterone affect skin, hair, and nails.
The “pregnancy glow” comes from increased blood flow (up to 45% more volume).
Skin changes: pigmentation (melasma “mask of pregnancy”, linea nigra, darkened nipples/scars), breakouts, vascular changes, skin tags, keratosis pilaris.
Hair and nail growth may alter, with some thickening or fragility.
Skin Support
Avoid during pregnancy: retinoids (oral + topical), high-concentration salicylic acid, hydroquinone/arbutin, benzoyl peroxide (uncertain), chemical sunscreens, essential oils, DHA tanning pills, sunbeds.
Safe options:
Gentle cleansers (ceramides, squalene)
Mineral sunscreens (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide)
